September Home Updates

September was such a mix of everything I love. Traveling, new projects, and shopping. At home, I hired a local contractor to finish a patch of flooring for base of the steps leading upstairs to the rental. Outside, I continued working on building a retaining wall and finally found use for old mid century modern breeze blocks that I’ve kept for a couple of years from facebook marketplace. We even grabbed a few new DeWalt tools from Home Depot to make future projects a little easier. I added several more bags of River Jack rocks (from our local landscaping company Primex) around the new deck to clean up the landscape and tie everything together. At the start of the season, my mom and I planted several wildflower gardens around the property. They went a little wild so I had to do some damage control. I was able to make a bunch of little bundles to put around the house…so pretty!

Traveling to new places typically gives me new design ideas. We spent one long weekend in Virginia for a wedding at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards. We took another long weekend trip to Charleston and Folly Beach with Ryder, she loves the beach just like her momma. I had no idea how expensive Sullivan Island homes were, it’s like the Beverly Hills of South Carolina. We explored the city architecture, biked through historic neighborhoods with beautiful character. We also stopped by a few local markets where I found a vendor for huge natural stone rings and a cute print from @indulgeinart that I can’t wait to frame!! We stayed at the Downtown Marriott on Calhoun St. To end our nights, we threw on Southern Charm to really get a feel for the city. With Charleston being on the way to parents’ place in Tybee Island, we are planning more stops in the upcoming months.

Business-wise, I am still integrating BHHS details into my website and continued decorating my office space. I also hosted an annual HOA meeting in New Hope for one of the communities I manage.
